PHOTOS: Hamlet juniors at Pembroke Post 50

PEMBROKE — The Hamlet American Legion junior baseball team allowed 10 unanswered runs in Tuesday’s loss.

Playing at Area 2 Conference opponent Pembroke Post 50, Hamlet lost 10-2.

Post 49 jumped ahead early in the top of the first inning by scoring both of its runs. Steve James (fielder’s choice) and Preston Fann (triple) each recorded a run batted in.

Pembroke scored one run in the first and another in the fourth to tie the game. A seven-run fifth inning for Post 50 broke the game open.

The Hamlet juniors (1-4, 1-1 Area 2) will play the Hope Mills Post 32 Tigers Wednesday at home, beginning at 7 p.m.
