RCSO: Search warrant yields meth, MDMA, fentanyl, other drugs; 2 charged

ROCKINGHAM — Two people are facing charges after investigators reportedly found drugs in an East Rockingham home.

According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, investigators with the Community Impact Team — joined by patrol deputies and officers with the Rockingham Police Department’s Vice/Narcotics Unit — served a search warrant Sunday, June 2 at a residence on Aleo 9th Avenue.

During the search, investigators reportedly found and seized:

  • 56 grams of methamphetamine
  • 17.5 grams of fentanyl
  • 881 dosage units of MDMA
  • 5.3 grams of crack cocaine
  • 53 grams of marijuana
  • five suboxone strips
  • a “large assortment” of drug paraphernalia
  • a .22-caliber handgun
  • $7,966

Two residents of the home, 36-year-old Tasha Marie Brayboy and 31-year-old Anthony Leamon Webb, were both arrested.

Brayboy is charged with: conspiracy to traffic opium or heroin; trafficking in methamphetamine; trafficking in MDMA; possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver methamphetamine; possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver cocaine; possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a Schedule III controlled substance; possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver marijuana; maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for a controlled substance; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Webb is charged with: trafficking in MDMA; trafficking opium or heroin; trafficking in methamphetamine; PWISD cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a Schedule III controlled substance;possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver marijuana; maintaining a dwelling for controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Brayboy is being held in the Richmond County Jail on a $350,000 secured bond. She is also being held on an additional $2,350 cash bond on a failure to appear for child support. Webb is being held on a $375,000 secured bond.

Both defendants are scheduled to appear in court June 13.

Brayboy was convicted of common law robbery in 2017, according to records with the N.C. Department of Adult Correction. Her probation was revoked the following year and she was incarcerated for less than seven months.

In 2021, Brayboy was convicted of having a controlled substance in a penal institution and served less than three months. Four months later, she was back behind bars on a three-month reimprison violation.

Records show Webb was first convicted in 2011 of damage to property.

In 2013, Webb was convicted of felony breaking and entering and served nearly three months behind bars. By the end of the year, he was back in prison for six months on a post-release revocation.

Webb is currently on parole until Nov. 19, having been released from prison on Feb. 23. He was initially given probation in 2021 when convicted on two counts of delivering or selling a Schedule II controlled substance, but his probation was revoked last November.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
