McInnis to head O’Neal School in Moore County

SOUTHERN PINES — Dr. Dale McInnis won’t stay retired for long.

The O’Neal School in Moore County announced Monday, June 3 that McInnis has been tapped as the institution’s next leader.

McInnis is set to step down as president of Richmond Community College in October, according to a press release issued May 29.

“I am excited at the prospect of helping to build on the School’s excellent reputation and brand and rich history of success,” McInnis said in a press release.

The Ellerbe native has been working for the North Carolina Community College System since 1992, when he started working at Montgomery Community College. McInnis also worked at South Piedmont Community College before starting at RichmondCC in 2002 as vice president for administration and chief financial officer.

“The Board unanimously agreed that Dr. McInnis is the ideal candidate for O’Neal’s next head of school,” Dr. Lynda Acker, chair of the O’Neal Board of Trustees said in a press release.

“His experience as an effective leader, administrator, and educator will benefit our faculty, staff, and students,” added Stan Bradshaw, who chaired the search committee.
