Jerry Lynn Warden, 69, of Pistol Ridge, Rockingham, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Richmond.
He was born Feb. 16, 1955, in Richmond County, son of Joyce Hatcher Warden and the late James Derwood Warden.
Jerry worked in education as a teacher with Richmond County Schools. He was very creative and imaginative with his story telling. Jerry was also a master craftsman and could build and construct anything. He enjoyed Christmastime and being with family. He was known to his family as “the Uncle” and affectionately as Superman. He will be dearly missed.
Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his son, Joshua Warden.
Jerry is survived by his mother, Joyce Hatcher Warden of Pistol Ridge; daughter, Jeremia Wells of Rockingham; daughter-in-law, Nicole Warden of Hamlet; grandchildren, Sebastian, Nico, Drake and Jackson; sisters, Janet Scott of Columbia, South Carolina and Jackie Howard (Jim) of Pistol Ridge; nieces and nephews, Aubrey Parker (Ricky), Frankie Billingsley (Crystal), Jessica Cranford (Eddie), Stephanie Molina (Elvin), Courtney Shuttleworth (Sean), Jonathan Scott (Emily), and David Scott; 10 great-nieces and -nephews and one great-great nephew.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, June 9, 2024 at 3 p.m. at Pistol Ridge Cemetery with the Rev. Ricky Parker officiating. Burial will follow the service.
