Willie Randall Luellen, 61, of Hamlet, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2024 at Richmond County Hospice Haven.
He was born Oct. 4, 1962, in Grand Saline, Texas, son of the late Willie Alvis Luellen and Emily Frances Saws Honea.
Mr. Luellen loved his job in maintenance with the Caterpillar Company in Sanford. Doing odd and end jobs around the house and wood-carving were projects and times he enjoyed. He was an independent man with a “go-getter” personality. Mr. Luellen was a good-hearted soul and loved his family and his dogs.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Tony Luellen; and brother, Rodney Luellen.
Mr. Luellen is survived by his domestic partner of 40 years, Sylvia Currie of the home; son, Trent Luellen of Hughes Springs, Texas; grandchildren, Shae Draper (Elijah), Sydney McMinn (Riley), Destiny Luellen and Chad Luellen; great-grandson, Elijah Jr.; stepson, Donald Haywood (Michelle) of Asheboro; and brother, Larry Speedling (Dorine) of Bennettsville, South Carolina.
Services will be held by the family at a later date.
