ROCKINGHAM —  Another game week has come and gone, and with it, the Richmond Senior High School football team has named its five players of the week.

Continuing a new initiative by head coach Brad Denson and his coaching staff, Richmond will recognize a select group of varsity players each week.

Sponsored by Top Guns Strength and Performance Gym, the Raiders will name “players of the week” in five separate categories: offense, defense, special teams, practice and weight room.

As part of their recognition, each player received a t-shirt from Top Guns.

With Richmond’s third game week now wrapped, which resulted in a 31-13 loss at Cardinal Gibbons High School, the players of the week are:

Offense: Keyonta Davis (senior wide receiver)

Defense: K’Mauri Morgan (senior linebacker)

Special Teams: Billy West (senior kicker)

Practice: Lashon Goodwin (senior defensive back)

Weight Room: Lincoln Smith (senior offensive lineman)

Morgan notched his second recognition. He was also named after Week 1 and Richmond’s game against Seventy-First High School.

The Raiders’ players of the week are selected by Denson and the coaching staff based on each player’s contributions and achievements in the respected category throughout the week of practice and Friday night.

Richmond (1-2) will host Myers Park High School (1-2) to close its non-conference schedule Friday. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
