Dotelene “Dot” McFayden Nicholson, 94, of Ellerbe, completed her earthly journey on Friday, Aug. 30, 2024.
Mrs. Nicholson was born Feb. 9, 1930 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Lonnie Angus and Lessie Harris McFayden.
She was a longtime member of Mount Carmel Presbyterian Church where she was a choir member, Sunday school teacher and member of the Women of the Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Marie Nicholson, Shirley Covington, Helen Covington, George McFayden, Buford McFayden and Ronald McFayden.
Surviving are her husband, James M. Nicholson; daughter, Linda Nicholson (Carl Mabe); grandson, Ben Stamets (Carla); great-grandchildren, Ava and Wesley Stamets; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024 in Mount Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery with the Rev. James Watson officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
