ELLERBE — The rain held off Friday evening for the town’s annual Hometown Christmas celebration.
Following a musical selection by the Mineral Springs Elementary chorus, new Mayor Fred Cloninger and the small crowd counted down from 10 for the lighting of the town’s tree.

Several local businesses were open and Santa and Mrs. Claus were at the Ellerbe Fire Department to pose for photos and hear what the children wanted for Christmas.
