2 Anson County men charged in Richmond County patrols

Tyler Jordan Lowery, Trenton Taylor Jones

ROCKINGHAM — Two Anson County men are facing charges across the river following patrols by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office and state troopers.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies with the traffic safety unit, community impact team and criminal investigators, along with troopers with the N.C. State Highway Patrol, conducted highway safety patrols during the evening and night of Saturday, July 15.

Those patrols reportedly resulted in:

  • two charges of driving while impaired charges
  • six charges of driving without an operator’s license
  • 10 charges of driving while license revoked
  • one vehicle inspection violation
  • Three vehicle registration violations
  • one seat belt violation,
  • one liability insurance violation
  • five drug violations
  • three weapons violations
  • a fugitive from another state

The fugitive was 20-year-old Tyler Jordan Lowery of Morven, who was reportedly wanted in Chesterfield County, South Carolina. He was also charged with carrying a concealed gun.

South Carolina court records appear to show Lowery failed to comply or appear on traffic citations and a minor marijuana-related charge in 2022.

Lowery was booked into the Richmond County Jail on a $27,500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 3 on the gun charge and for extradition.

Deputies also charged Trenton Taylor Jones, of Wadesboro, with carrying a concealed gun and possession of a firearm by a felon.

(Note: A press release lists Jones as 20, but state records show him as 21.)

Jones was convicted in May 2021 of felony breaking and entering and possession of stolen goods in Anson County, according to records with the N.C. Department of Adult Correction.

The sheriff’s office says Jones was booked on a $10,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 3

Both Jones and Lowery appear to have been bailed out.

Online court records show Jones also has pending traffic citations in Richmond and Anson counties.

Records indicate Lowery is still on probation, as he received an 18-month suspended sentence in November 2022 when he was convicted in Anson County of habitual breaking and entering.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
