4 charged in drug bust at Richmond County motel

ROCKINGHAM — Three men and a woman are facing drug charges following a bust by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a press release, the four were arrested Tuesday after the sheriff’s office executed a search warrant at a local motel.

Investigators say deputies had made controlled drug buys from the group on multiple occasions.

During the search, investigators say they found and seized several forms of illegal narcotics and weapons.

The defendants were charged with the following crimes:

  • Zakane Latez Jennings, 25, Lewis Circle, Rockingham: three counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver a Schedule II controlled substance; one count each possession with intent to sell or deliver a Schedule I, Schedule III and Schedule IV controlled substance; felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance; possession of a stolen firearm; possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Quorum Adonis Blyther, 30, Entwistle Road, Rockingham: three counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon; three counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver a Schedule II controlled substance; one count each possession with intent to sell or deliver a Schedule I, Schedule III and Schedule IV controlled substance; felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance; possession of a stolen firearm; possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Amanda Renee Braddock, 27, Old Cheraw Hwy., Rockingham: five counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver a Schedule II controlled substance; two counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver a Schedule II controlled substance; one count each of possession with intent to sell or deliver a Schedule III and Schedule IV controlled substance; felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance; simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; seven counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
  • Jonathan Lindsey Brown, Jr., 32, U.S.1 N., Hoffman: five counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver a Schedule II controlled substance; two counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver a Schedule II controlled substance; one count each of possession with intent to sell or deliver a Schedule III and Schedule IV controlled substance; felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance; simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; seven counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Investigators say Blyther’s robbery charges stem from allegedly being identified as a suspect in three convenience store robberies across the county.

Last week, deputies charged 20-year-old Darious Shrikee Toomer in those robberies.

Jennings is being held at the Richmond County Jail under a $110,000 secured bond, Blyther under a $775,000 secured bond, Braddock under a $300,000 secured bond, and Brown under a $650,000 secured bond.

Blyther is also facing the following charges from an August arrest by the Rockingham Police Department: 10 counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a Schedule II controlled substance; three counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a Schedule IV controlled substance; one count each of possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a Schedule III and Schedule V controlled substance; one count each of simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance, possession of marijuana paraphernalia and possession of drug paraphernalia; and one count of manufacturing, assembling or storing a weapon of mass destruction.

Online court records show Blyther is also facing misdemeanor charges of possession of up to a half-ounce of marijuana and carrying a concealed gun in Scotland County and traffic charges in Montgomery County.

Neither Blyther nor Jennings have any previous convictions.
