ROCKINGHAM — A search warrant was served by agents with N.C. Alcohol Law Enforcement late last week at a local club.

According to the Rockingham Police Department, officers assisted ALE serving the warrant the night of Feb. 3 at the County Line Lounge at 651 McNair Road, on the west side of the city.

(Note: The RPD press release, ABC permits and address on the club’s Facebook page show the address on McNair “Street”).

The warrant was obtained after “multiple” complaints were filed alleging the club was operating and serving alcohol without permits, according to RPD.

Records with the N.C. Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission show the County Line Lounge was granted three permits — for malt beverages, fortified wine and mixed drinks — on Sept. 20, 2022. However, those permits were canceled on Jan. 9, 2023.

Police say numerous alcoholic beverages were confiscated, along with “other miscellaneous items” including U.S. currency.

No one was present at the club while the warrant was executed, according to police.

As of 3 p.m. Feb.7, the search warrant had not been returned to the Richmond County Clerk of Superior Court’s office.

Police say charges are pending upon the completion of the ALE investigation.

The RO contacted the ALE on Feb. 6, but had received no response as of the time of this writing.

The club had been closed for several months.

According to club’s Facebook page, it re-opened on Jan. 13 under new management. A “Freaky Friday Stripathon” was advertised for Jan. 20.

Several photos appear to have been removed from the page in recent days.

In May 2021, a woman was charged with hitting a man with a car outside the club. Records appear to show she was not convicted.

In September of the same year, several shots were fired on McNair Road as patrons left the bar. Several buildings were struck, including a nearby church, but no injuries were reported. There was also a vehicle pileup near the intersection of U.S. 74 Business and one vehicle was left behind.

ABC records show permits have been issued at that address in the past as Saras Saloon (canceled in 2012), G Spot (canceled in 2016), Krush Lounge (canceled in 2017), Relegio Bar Night Club (canceled in 2019) Silk Lounge (canceled in 2020). A limited special occasion permit was issued in February of 2018.
