ELLERBE — Deputies have charged a man in connection to a break-in from late December of 2022.
According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, patrol deputies recovered stolen property after stopping 44-year-old Larry Wayne Talley, of Ellerbe, on Dec. 30.
Deputies were reportedly able to tie the property to a breaking and entering that happened sometime between Dec. 22 and 26 on Rankin Lake Road in Ellerbe.
Talley was arrested Jan. 6 and charged with one count of breaking and entering and two counts of larceny after breaking and entering.
He was booked into the Richmond County Jail under a $20,000 secured bond, but appears to have since been released. His court date on those charges is scheduled for Jan. 19.
Online court records show Talley has several other pending charges in three counties:
- Richmond – felony larceny, obtaining property by false pretenses, possession of stolen goods or property, and multiple traffic infractions
- Montgomery – felony larceny, possession of stolen goods or property
- Moore – breaking and entering
Records with the N.C. Department of Public Safety Division of Adult Correction show Talley was convicted in 2009 on two misdemeanor Employment Security violations.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
