HAMLET — One of three suspects charged in a recent shootout has been apprehended and one is still unidentified.

According to investigators with the Hamlet Police Department, 24-year-old Tyrese Davis, of Hamlet, turned himself in on June 29 after the department posted stills from security video on its Facebook page.

Officers reportedly responded to a call of shots fired in the area of Taylor and Fisher streets around 7:35 p.m. on June 17. No injuries were reported, but investigators say homes were shot into on Whitlock Drive, Fisher Street and Taylor Street.

Davis was arrested and charged with one count each of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, aggravated assault, discharging a weapon into an occupied property, discharging a firearm in the city limits and injury to real property.

Jail records appear to show Davis has made bail.

Online records with the N.C. Court System show Davis already has pending charges from 2022: aiding and abetting attempted first-degree murder; aiding and abetting assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury; accessory after the fact of attempted first-degree murder; and accessory after the fact of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

Davis also has pending traffic infractions from this year for speeding and reckless driving to endanger.

20-year-old Zyarian Hailey, who was 19 at the time, was also caught on camera and police posted his photo. But, investigators say after questioning they determined Hailey was not involved in the shooting.

However, Hailey was arrested on outstanding orders for arrest for failing to appear in an Anson County court.

Online court records show Hailey has pending charges from 2020 of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling or moving vehicle, as well two pending counts of the latter charge from 2021.

As of Friday, July 7, Hailey was being held in the Anson County Jail on a $200,000 secured bond.

Warrants have been obtained for Ismael Sanchez and Henry Bethea in connection to the shooting, but as of 4:30 p.m. July 7, neither of the two had been apprehended.

Ismael Sanchez, left, and Henry Bethea are wanted in connection to a June 17 shooting, according to the Hamlet Police Department.

Investigators are still trying to identify another suspect who appears to be pointing a handgun in one of the surveillance stills.
