Hamlet Police obtain warrants for shooting suspect; accomplice still unidentified

HAMLET — Police have identified one suspect in a shooting on Seaboard Street earlier this month.

The Hamlet Police Department announced over the weekend that investigators have obtained arrest warrants for Kamarie Morrison.

Morrison and another man reportedly fired shots into a home on Seaboard Street around 10 p.m. April 7. No injuries were reported, but police say the home was damaged.

Officers reportedly heard the shots and when they arrived on scene found multiple shell casings in the street and in the yard.

One of the suspects fired a handgun, the other was using a rifle, police confirmed last week.

Chief Dennis Brown confirmed on Monday afternoon that Morrison was still at large and that the other suspect has not yet been identified.
