Hamlet Police seek man suspected of using counterfeit currency

HAMLET — Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect in a counterfeit cash case.

Capt. Randy Dover, of the Hamlet Police Department, said the unidentified man, caught on surveillance video, is suspected of using fake currency Wednesday at the Family Dollar retail store in Hamlet.

A still image was posted to the department’s Facebook page on Thursday.

According to the time stamp on the video, the incident occurred around 11:36 a.m. and Dover said the report was made around 3 p.m.
