HOFFMAN — A Richmond County man is accused of improperly touching an underage girl.
According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a home in Hoffman on April 22 in reference to an alleged sexual assault.
The victim reportedly said that she had been sleeping and woke up to someone rubbing and touching her.
Investigators identified the suspect as 37-year-old Brandon Bailey Blue, of Hoffman and a warrant was issued for his arrest on May 9, charging him with a single count of taking indecent liberties with a minor.
Blue was arrested by the Southern Pines Police Department on July 12 and booked into the Moore County Detention Center on a $75,000 secured bond. He did not appear to be in custody on July 13, the same day as his listed court date.
Records with the N.C. Department of Adult Correction appear to show Blue has no prior convictions in the state.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
