Missing girl found safe in South Carolina

COLUMBUS — A girl who was reported missing from Polk County was found safe Sunday afternoon.

Multiple media outlets report that 11-year-old Allison Paige Henderson was found by the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office in South Carolina.

Originally believed to be a runaway, Allison was allegedly abducted by her uncle, 38-year-old David Neil Henderson.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office issued an Amber Alert Sunday afternoon.

Investigators reportedly pinged her cellphone at her uncle’s home.

Henderson is a violent offender, the media outlets said, citing law enforcement sources.

While he has no criminal history in North Carolina, South Carolina court records show Henderson currently has pending charges of third-degree assault and battery and second-degree burglary in Spartanburg County.

He was also convicted of third-degree burglary and misdemeanor larceny in March.

A search of jail records show Henderson is not currently booked in either Spartanburg County or Polk County.

No charges have yet been filed.
