ROCKINGHAM — Investigators with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office have obtained a warrant for child abduction following a report of a woman taking her child.

According to the sheriff’s office, Elisabeth Cribb is the mother of the child, but the father has custody.

A post made to social media late Monday afternoon claims that Cribb broke down the door and knocked down a grandmother before taking the child.

Investigators confirmed a misdemeanor assault took place.

According to the sheriff’s office, this case does not meet the qualifications for an official Amber Alert due to the circumstances.
