ROCKINGHAM — Two parents are facing child abuse charges stemming from an incident nearly two months ago.

According to warrants, a two-month-old child sustained bilateral rib fractures, a metaphyseal lesion/fracture to the left tibia and acute nondisplaced spiral fracture of the left femur.

Court documents indicate the incident occurred on Sept. 10.

The parents, 20-year-old Aleigha Jade Stephenson, of Whitney Lane and Tarmaine Moore, of Rockingham Road, were each charged by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office with one count of intentional child abuse with serious physical injury.

Both were arrested Nov. 3 and released on a $25,000 surety appearance bond. They are scheduled to appear in court Nov. 19.
