HOFFMAN — Two people died over the weekend from what investigators believe to be a murder-suicide.
According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to a home on McCoy Drive in Hoffman around 8:15 the morning of Sunday, Aug. 4 in reference to a report of a domestic situation and possible shooting.
Neighbors reportedly told deputies that a man and woman living in the home had been involved in a domestic dispute and gunshots were heard.
Deputies entered the home and cleared all rooms except for one — a locked bedroom — according to the sheriff’s office.
When the deputies tried to breach the door, they reportedly heard a single gunshot inside the room.
Once inside, deputies reportedly found the bodies of a male and female, both deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.
Names have not yet been released.
As of Wednesday afternoon, the investigation was still ongoing.
