ROCKINGHAM — Two females were taken to a hospital following a shooting late Wednesday night.
According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to an address on Aleo 9th Street in East Rockingham around 11:03 p.m. in reference to a shooting into an occupied property.
Six people were inside the home at the time of the shooting and two females were shot, according to the sheriff’s office.
One of the victims was shot in the back, the other in the upper left leg. Both were taken to an undisclosed hospital.
The victims’ names yet been released. Investigators say both women were in their 30s — one is 32, the other is 34.
Investigators say the home was “damaged by multiple projectiles from a firearm.”
The investigation is ongoing.
