Red Springs man charged in Richmond County robbery

ROCKINGHAM — A Hoke County man is facing a quartet of charges related to an alleged October robbery.

According to arrest warrants, 25-year-old Eric Vonn Locklear, of Red Springs, held a gun to an alleged victim’s head on Oct. 22 at Hoffman Gaming, and stole $5,000 and an Apple iPhone 6s.

The warrants were issued Dec. 15, charging Locklear with two felony counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, one felony count of second-degree kidnapping, and a misdemeanor count of assault with a deadly weapon.

Locklear was arrested Dec. 18 and booked into the Richmond County Jail under a $100,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 4.

Records with the N.C. Department of Public Safety Division of Adult Correction show Locklear was first convicted in 2013 of misdemeanor larceny in Hoke County.

He was convicted again in 2018, also in Hoke County, on misdemeanor charges of larceny and breaking and entering.

Locklear received probation in both cases.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
