ROCKINGHAM — A man wanted on suspicion of opening fire at a flea mall over the weekend is now in custody.

Willis Tyquil Riggins, 24, of Hamlet, turned himself in at the Richmond County Magistrate’s office Monday after stories ran in local media about the incident, according to a statement from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

He is charged with a single count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

Riggins was processed and released on a $30,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court July 1.

He is accused of firing shots at the flea mall on U.S. 220 late Saturday morning. Investigators say no one was injured.
