Rockingham man charged with stalking in South Carolina

BENNETTSVILLE, S.C. — A Richmond County man is facing charges in South Carolina after allegedly threatening a former lover.

According to the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office, there have been multiple reports filed against 33-year-old Michael Brady Knight, of Rockingham.

Knight is accused of threatening to kill an ex-girlfriend, who lives in Marlboro County, and allegedly threatened to burn down her home.

Knight was arrested Thursday and is charged with one count each of stalking and unlawful communication. He is being held in the Marlboro County Detention Center under a $75,000 surety bond.

Online records show Knight has no pending charges or previous convictions in North Carolina.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
