Rockingham Police take 7 larceny reports in 3 days

ROCKINGHAM — Police are investigating at least seven larcenies reported within three days last week, including at a local church.

On June 21, an officer with the Rockinhgam Police Department responded to a call in reference to both a riding lawn mower and push mower being stolen from the shed of Rockingham Church of Christ on Wild Cherry Avenue.

That same day, a resident on Dogwood Lane reported multiple items stolen from his building:

  • $1,000 in camping supplies
  • Black & Decker power tool set
  • Kayak
  • Stereo system
  • Trail camera
  • Window unit air conditioner
  • Shop light

On June 22, officers took a report on a vehicle broken into at Cathy’s Clippers on Fayetteville Road, citing that $10 in change and four blood pressure pills were stolen.

A resident on Short Street also reported that 42 ceramic tiles, a bank book and 10 checks had been stolen.

An alleged victim on Crescent Drive also reported that day that a check book had been stolen and four personal checks of $300 or more had been fraudulently written.

The next day, two Stihl chainsaws, an impact driver, flashlight and chain and lock were reported stolen from the back of a work truck.

An officer also took a report of a stolen iPhone 10 with case.

All reports were still listed as active.
