HAMLET — Police are looking for the “Grinch” who stole Christmas — or rather, a Christmas decoration.
Just before 6 p.m. on Wednesday, administrators for the Visit Hamlet, NC Facebook page announced that an inflatable Santa had been stolen from the property overnight. The post starts out addressing the perpetrator.
“To the Grinch that stole our Santa Claus on the Amtrak side of the Hamlet Depot & Museums last night, we hope you were camera ready since you were caught on our security cameras,” the post reads.
The post goes on to read that if Santa is returned, “there will be no questions asked.”
“It is very sad to know that employees and volunteers spent countless hours over the past month to decorate and bring joy to our community for it to be disrespected,” the post concludes.
