ROCKINGHAM — Two men are facing rape charges and the Richmond County Sherrif’s Office is looking for a third suspect.

According to a press release issued Monday, investigators have charged 43-year-old Terry Wesley Rushing and and 52-year-old Tracy Durunte Baker, both of Rockingham with first-degree forcible rape for an incident that allegedly occured March 11-12 in East Rockingham.

Richmond County Jail records show both were arrested and booked on March 17 and are being held on a $200,000 secured bond.

Investigators have also obtained an arrest warrant for Michael Carlton Tuner of Rockingham and ask that anyone who may know his whereabouts to call 911 or Richmond County Crimestoppers at 910-997-5454.

Jail records show Baker is being held on an additional $50,000 secured bond on charges of: possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a Schedule I controlled substance (two counts); possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a Schedule II controlled substance; and possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a Schedule VI controlled substance.

Online court records show Baker has the following pending charges: sell or deliver a Schedule I controlled substance; selling a Schedule II controlled substance; delivering a Schedule II controlled substance; possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a Schedule II controlled substance; maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for a controlled substance; and misdemeanor larceny.

Baker also has several traffic citations, including two counts of driving with a revoked license and an open-container violation.

Rushing was previously convicted in 2003 of failing to heed a light or siren, speeding, resisting an officer and driving with a revoked license in Scotland County.

Turner has an even more extensive criminal history, dating back to 1996 when he was convicted of assault on a female, records show.

Turner was given probation in 1999 on a misdemeanor larceny conviction, but it was revoked the following year when he was convicted of possession with intent to sell a Schedule II controlled substance and driving with a revoked license. He served less than five months.

Turner was convicted of driving while impaired in 2001 and on two counts of felony breaking and entering in 2005. His probation was revoked in 2006 and he was incarcerated for nearly nine months.

Records show Turner went back to prison for a year following a 2013 conviction of possession or distribution of a meth precursor.

In 2020, Turner was convicted in Brunswick County possession with intent to sell a Schedule II controlled substance and maintaining any place for a controlled substance. Records show he spent less than three months behind bars and his parole ended July 24, 2021.
