ROCKINGHAM — A trio of teenagers is accused of robbing a home in East Rockingham.
According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call of a robbery in progress at a home on Wilson Avenue, off of Hannah Pickett Avenue, on Nov. 9.
The caller had reportedly ran from the home and was hiding in the woods, but another victim was still inside with the suspects. Deputies also reportedly learned while enroute that the suspects had left the scene in the victim’s vehicle.
A deputy responding to the scene reportedly saw a person matching the description of one of the suspects running down the road. That deputy reportedly chased and caught the suspect.
The stolen vehicle and the other two suspects were reportedly later found on Airport Road.
According to the sheriff’s office, the suspects range in age from 13-16 years old. They were reportedly processed and turned over to the Division of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.
Because of their ages, no other information is publicly available.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
