ROCKINGHAM — Two teens are accused of robbing a delivery driver and stealing his vehicle.

According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call from man on Aug. 8 who said he had delivered a pizza to an address on Oakdale Street in East Rockingham when he was robbed.

Two suspects reportedly jumped into his car as he was walking up to the door. The driver reportedly told deputies that he jumped into the passenger seat to keep them from pulling away, but one of the suspects pulled out a knife and threatened him.

The victim jumped out of the vehicle and “was struck” as the suspects left the scene.

According to the sheriff’s office, the victim’s car was found by a deputy a short time later at a home on Airport Road, with two males fitting the suspects’ description.

When deputies went to confront them, the presumed suspects fled on foot but were apprehended during a K-9 track, according to the sheriff’s office.
