ROCKINGHAM — A man wanted in connection to a shooting last November was recently arrested in his home county of Union.
According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, 21-year-old Adrian Franco-Uriostigui, of Monroe, is believed to have shot into an occupied home on Eddie’s Lane in Hamlet on Nov. 2, 2022.
Warrants had been taken out for Franco-Uriostigui’s arrest, charging him with discharging a weapon into an occupied property.
He was arrested Feb. 13 by the Union County Sheriff’s Office and booked into the Union County Jail on a $50,000 secured bond. It appears he has since been released. His court date is currently unknown.
Records with the N.C. Department of Public Safety Division of Adult Correction show Franco-Uriostigui was convicted in June 2022 of possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
