WARRANT: Convicted felon had gun, weed, meth

ROCKINGHAM — A previously convicted Ellerbe man is facing drug and weapon charges following an arrest last week.

Investigators with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office allege in an arrest warrant that 31-year-old Carlos Jermaine Bostick, of Pine Cone Court, was in possession of 30 grams of marijuana and 16.9 grams of methamphetamine on Jan. 5.

Bostick is also accused of selling meth and weed from a Hyundai Sonata, having cigars and baggies and having a Ruger Security 9mm semiautomatic handgun.

According to records with the N.C. Department of Public Safety Division of Adult Correction, Bostick was convicted in 2012 of accessory after the fact to second-degree murder.

Records show he was incarcerated from his conviction date of March 26, 2012 through Aug. 11, 2013 and was released from parole on May 8, 2014.

Bostick is charged with one felony count each of: possession of a firearm by a felon; possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver marijuana; possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a Schedule II controlled substance; and maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for a controlled substance. He is also facing one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was given a $15,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 21.

Online court records show Bostick owes $255 to the Clerk of Superior Court in Anson County and faces charges of obtaining property by false pretenses, financial card theft and misdemeanor larceny.

Bostick also has pending traffic infractions in Richmond County from the N.C. State Highway Patrol and Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
