NCDHHS awarded grant to prepare for 988 suicide prevention lifeline number
RALEIGH — The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services’ Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Services has been awarded the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline’s 988 State Planning Grant through Vibrant Emotional Health, the nonprofit administrator of the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (Lifeline). This grant, totaling $129,555, provides support to begin implementing the Lifeline’s new 988 number.
NCDOT and NCDHHS announce solution to help fund transit rides to and from COVID-19 vaccine sites
RALEIGH — Today, the N.C. Department of Transportation and the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services announced that approximately $2.5 million in Coronavirus Relief Funding is being distributed to local transit agencies across the state to help pay for rides for individuals who need transportation assistance to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.
NCDHHS adds vaccination data to COVID-19 Data Dashboard
RALEIGH — The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services today added data on people vaccinated to the NC COVID-19 Dashboard. Data will be provided for the total number of people statewide and by county of residence who have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Data for people who have received the second dose of the vaccine will be added in January.
NCDHHS submits COVID-19 vaccination plan to CDC
RALEIGH — North Carolina (Friday) submitted to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention its COVID-19 Vaccination Plan. The goal of the plan is to immunize everyone who is eligible for and wants a COVID-19 vaccine.

NC Medicaid surpasses 1 million telehealth visits since beginning of COVID-19 pandemic
RALEIGH — The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (Tuesday) announced a milestone in the use of telehealth and telephonic visits by NC Medicaid enrollees during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since establishing telehealth flexibility policies in early March, NC Medicaid has processed claims for approximately more than 1.1 million telehealth and 350,000 telephonic visits.
