RALEIGH — A top N.C. Senate redistricting leader is raising new concerns about one of the men who helped draw the state’s latest congressional map. Those concerns are based on new revelations from New Jersey.

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Supreme Court has voted 6-3 to deny N.C. legislators' request to block a court-drawn congressional map for North Carolina. The high court's decision should end legal action connected to new N.C. election maps for the 2022 election cycle.

RALEIGH — Each of the plaintiffs in North Carolina's legal dispute over election maps is asking the U.S. Supreme Court to stay out of the fight. So is the N.C. Justice Department.

ROCKINGHAM — A Sandhills state senator will be challenging a sitting U.S. representative for the 9th Congressional district in the upcoming election.

The trial court in the redistricting case North Carolina League of Conservation Voters v. Hall rejected a remedial congressional map drawn by the General Assembly based on recommendations from three "special masters" they appointed to inspect that map. The special masters claimed that the remedial map did not meet some theoretical mathematical thresholds, suggesting that the map might be a partisan gerrymander.

RALEIGH — State legislative leaders are asking the U.S. Supreme Court to step into the legal dispute over a new congressional map for North Carolina.

SOUTHERN PINES — State Rep. Jamie Boles announced late Thursday that he filed for reelection in the new N.C. House of Representatives District 52.

ROCKINGHAM — Congressman Dan Bishop could remain the U.S. representative for most of Richmond County.

ROCKINGHAM — Richard Hudson could once again represent Richmond County — or at least part of it.

RALEIGH — The N.C. Supreme Court is refusing to insert itself back into the state’s legal dispute over legislative and congressional redistricting at this time. A series of court orders issued about 10 p.m. Wednesday denied requests for action from supporters and critics of a three-judge panel’s ruling on election maps.
