The Goodwin Andrews Scholarship annually supports a college-bound graduating senior from Richmond Senior High School. This $1,000 scholarship is awarded after a selective application process. The awards committee thanks all applicants for their contributions this year and enthusiastically announces Analee Wyand as the recipient of the 2019-2020 Goodwin Andrews Scholarship.

This year’s theme gave students the opportunity to critically reflect on themselves and creatively examine their futures. In essays, short stories, and poems, applicants wrote about how they envisioned their lives in 10 years. Students grappled with the prompt and explored the imaginative depths of who they are through the lens of who they could be. While many submissions were excellent, Analee’s commitment, thoughtfulness, and tenacious spirit stood out as noteworthy to reviewers. Analee will be attending North Carolina State University in the fall and intends to pursue a degree in psychology.
