HAMLET — Three young singers went head-to-head Friday evening in the Hamlet’s Got Talent Kids Edition.

Neo Auten, 12, of Hamlet, won the contest— organized by BowTie Karaoke — at Axe to Grind.

The son of Mike and Melissa Auten, Neo sang “Leave the Door Open” by Bruno Mars and “The Kind of Love We Make” by Luke Combs.

Neo had been singing karaoke at Axe to Grind during the summer before school started back. His father even competed in the inaugural Hamlet’s Got Talent.

The competition was open to children ages 7-17.

Megan Yarborough and Zander McSwain came in second and third, respectively.

The singers were voted on by the audience.

Local band Oero performed before and after the contest.
