DOBBINS HEIGHTS — Despite a wet weekend, the sun was shining Monday for the town’s annual Easter egg hunt.

The event started in the Dobbins Heights Community Center, with children learning about the reason for the holiday: the resurrection of Christ.

The party then moved outdoors and next door to the town’s park for the egg hunt.

Councilwoman Angeline David said about 150 kids attended the event.

Four bicycles and a hoverboard, donated by BackStreet Transporters, were given away.

There was also a moment of silence held for the late Archie Killough and Gracie Jackson, who have both passed away within the past year.

Jackson was involved in helping to organize the egg hunts in the early years of the town.
