The Craven Apiary Foundation was created to honor and remember Candace Craven and her love for science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM). Candace passed away Sept. 25, 2022.
She was a 2007 graduate of Richmond Senior High and a 2012 graduate of UNC Wilmington, where she majored in Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry. She went on to earn a Certificate of Data Analytics from the University of Denver in 2020.
Each year, there will be two scholarships awarded to Moore and Richmond County female students who wish to pursue advanced studies in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. The 2023 Craven Apiary Scholarship application opens March 1 and runs until March 31.
