Family nurse practitioner joins FirstHealth Wound Care

PINEHURST — FirstHealth Wound Care & Hyperbarics has expanded as Jamilia Broussard, FNP recently joined the team of expert and caring providers.

Broussard brings nearly a decade of experience in specialized wound care to her role with FirstHealth. She’s served as a wound care nurse practitioner in Texas and Oklahoma and most recently in Fayetteville, N.C.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from East Carolina University and a Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner from Walden University, headquartered in Minneapolis, Minn. Broussard is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and the National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy.

FirstHealth Wound Care & Hyperbarics is a member of the Healogics network of more than 600 Wound Care Centers and offers highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds that have not healed in a reasonable amount of time.

Advanced wound care modalities offered at FirstHealth include negative pressure wound therapy, total contact casting, bio-engineered tissues, biosynthetic dressings and growth factor therapies.

FirstHealth Wound Care & Hyperbarics also offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which works by surrounding the patient with 100 percent oxygen to help progress the healing of the wound.
