HAMLET — The “Reason for the Season” will be on full display Friday night as First Baptist Church reenacts the birth of Christ.
Pastor Allison Farrah calls the presentation “a meaningful presentation of the Christmas Story told through beautiful music of the sanctuary choir and children’s choir (and) narration.”
The cast for the live Nativity scene will include church members and live animals, including a donkey, sheep, cow and even a camel.
Children, with adult supervision, will have the opportunity to feed the animals prior to the two presentations, the first beginning at 5:30 p.m. and the second at 7:30 p.m.
Seating will be provided. The church is located at 208 Charlotte St., beside Piggly Wiggly.
The church will also provide vegetable soup and grilled cheese sandwiches in the fellowship hall between performances. Hot chocolate, cider and other “goodies” will be provided throughout the evening.
Temperatures are expected to be in the mid- to lower 40s just after sunset.
“Everyone one is invited to bundle up and join us,” Farrah said.
