FirstHealth celebrates benefits of breastfeeding

PINEHURST — World Breastfeeding Week is celebrated every year Aug. 1-7 to encourage breastfeeding and improve the health of babies around the world.

FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital proudly joins the effort to educate patients about the incredible health benefits of breastfeeding and laying the foundation of lifelong good health for babies and mothers through breastfeeding.

The staff in the Women and Children’s unit at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital kicked off the week-long observance with a celebratory cake. During World Breastfeeding Week, new moms at Moore Regional will receive special gift bags with items to encourage breastfeeding.
