FirstHealth

HAMLET — FirstHealth Convenient Care in Hamlet now offers new, expanded hours. The clinic is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

“We’ve seen a steady growth in patients at our convenient care clinic,” said Dan Barnes, D.O., president of FirstHealth Physician Group. “Increasing our operating hours helps patients receive the care they need when their primary care physician is not available.”

For added convenience for patients, FirstHealth is pleased to offer on-site X-ray at the Hamlet clinic. Patients do not have to travel to another location for an X-ray.

FirstHealth Convenient Care serves adults and children with non-emergency medical needs including such ailments as upper respiratory infection, strep, mild asthma, flu and urinary tract infection as well as minor injuries such as cuts, burns and broken bones that have not broken the skin. Imaging services, immunizations and sports physicals are also among the various services offered, as well as flu shots.

“Our convenient care locations are available to provide easy access to services that fall between the needs of a true emergency, one that requires an emergency room visit, and the preventive care of a primary care provider,” Barnes added. “They offer a ‘one-stop option’ for care provided by a professional medical staff that specializes in unscheduled urgent care.”

FirstHealth Convenient Care in Hamlet is staffed by certified physician assistants Sharin Gable and Krista Montes under the supervision of board certified physician James Liffrig, M.D.

Appointments are not necessary at FirstHealth Convenient Care, patients can walk-in at any time between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. to be seen.
