Hamlet Middle Beta Club nabs 3 awards at National Junior Convention

OKLAHOMA CITY — Members of the Hamlet Middle School Beta Club will be coming back home as winners.

Richmond County Schools announced late Tuesday that the club had teams place in three events at the National Junior Convention in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

The team of Carson Dixon, Carly Leggett, Giovani Gomez, Christi Jacobs and Tyler Berry had the highest of the Hamlet club’s awards with a third-place win in the Technology competition.

Hadley Garner and Ally Moore placed eighth in 2-D Design and the Quiz Bowl team — Garner, Berry, Gomez and Leggett — came in ninth.

The convention ran June 15-18.
