‘It’s a S.W.E.L.L. time for eSports:’ NBA2K21 Gaming League coming to Dobbins Heights

The Dobbins Heights NBA2k21 eSports League is here.

Dobbins Heights students in grades 8-11 are eligible to participate at this time. The league will consist of four teams with four members on each team. Teams will play on Saturdays starting on March 27 and ending on May 22.

Registration is free. The league will run for eight weeks. League and team sponsorships are welcomed. All games will be streamed live.

“The future is now! This is a logical tool to tap the potential of our youth through technology that they are familiar with; at the same time exploring the correlations of the science of technology; all while having fun in the spirit of competition,” proclaimed Tyre Holloway, mayor pro tem and Parks and Recreation co-commissioner

“If we are going to empower the next generation of scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs who will improve the economy, end hunger and improve the quality of life for rural North Carolinians, we must meet them where they are in order to lead them to where they want to be. eSports is the place to start”, says S.W.E.L.L. co-founder Jeff Epps.
