Hillside hosting floral arrangement workshop Hillside Florist

ROCKINGHAM — With less than a week to go before the big Thanksgiving holiday, families everywhere are kicking their preparations into overdrive.

Menus are being finalized, guest lists are being double checked, and homes are being cleaned to an extent that can only mean extended family is on the way.

And as all of the major details of this family filled holiday come together, it so becomes time to begin shifting a focus to the more décor-oriented elements of this special day.

Who is going to sit next to who during dinner?  Do we need to make a place card for each guest?  And what in the world are we going to do about a centerpiece for this table?

Well, while the staff at Hillside Florist might not be able to offer advice on family seating assignments, they are certainly able to offer locals a unique solution to their table decorating dilemmas with their brand-new hands-on event.

Set for this Sunday, Nov. 18 at 3 p.m., Hillside Florist will host its inaugural Ladies Night Out event which will give attendees an opportunity to handcraft a Thanksgiving centerpiece that will impress all of their holiday guests.

As explained by Chuck Wright, owner of Hillside Florist, “We are looking to provide more unique opportunities for individuals in Richmond County to enjoy.  Classes like this one are common in larger cities, and we want to provide a comparable opportunity for the people of our town to experience.”

This event, reserved for individuals 21 years of age and over, is a great opportunity to leave the kids at home, grab the girls, and have some fun, all while checking off another item on the Thanksgiving “to-do” list.

The evening’s festivities will begin with a brief tour of the Hillside Florist facility and an introduction into the art of flower arranging.  Participants will then be led, stem by stem, through the process of creating their own fresh table arrangement that will impress their Thanksgiving guests and be an elegant addition to any dining room setting.

Ladies Night Out will then conclude with a period of mingling and fellowship over a selection of local wines and hors d’oeuvres and a VIP shopping experience throughout the Hillside showroom.

This upscale workshop is expected to last approximately 90 minutes and costs $50 per person.  However, discounts are available to teachers, military, and ladies who sign up in groups of three or more.

“We are very excited to offer this unique opportunity,” concluded Wright.  “We look forward to sharing our passion for flower arranging with those who attend Ladies Night Out.”

The deadline to register for this event is Nov. 16 by 5 p.m.

Individuals interested in attending this event can reserve their spot by calling Hillside Florist at 910-997-4028 or by emailing the Hillside team at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
