ROCKINGHAM — Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and a photographer has a special way of capturing this beauty.

Some of these special moments will be on display at Arts Richmond from 5:30–7 p.m. beginning on Tuesday, Feb. 19.

The Richmond County Photography Group meets once a month on the third Tuesday from 6–7:30 pm at Arts Richmond in Rockingham where they submit and discuss monthly and quarterly assignments.

The assignments are not required to be able to participate in the group. Discussions and teachings in various areas of photography are the focus of the group meetings.

Throughout the year, the group also ventures out on an occasional photo shoot as well as a few scavenger hunts.

The group is hosted by Arts Richmond and promotes the interests of photographers by encouraging, educating and expanding the photographic knowledge and capabilities of its’ members. Anyone 16 years of age and older is welcome to join.

Richmond County photographer Jimmy McDonald started the group more seven years ago and continues to lead.

Once a year, the group’s photo submissions for the previous year are placed on display at Arts Richmond for the public to view. The 2018 photos will be on exhibit during open house Feb. 19 and will remain throughout the month, possibly into March.

Light refreshments will be provided at the open house viewing.

The community is encouraged to come out to show support to local photographers.

Arts Richmond is located at 125 E. Washington St., Rockingham.
