ROCKINGHAM — An intern with Richmond Community Theatre decided to give back to the local arts community.

Bella Provenzano raised more than $600 for the theater through artwork and crowdfunding, according to Director Merrie Dawkins.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, Dawkins said Provenzano contributed half of the money she made from commissions from her art work, and started a GoFundMe account “ to help the theatre during these difficult times.”

Dawkins said a check for $665 was presented last Friday.

“Bella’s love for our community theatre warms my heart and affirms that theatre matters!” Dawkins said in the post.

Provenzano was one of several teens featured in Dawkins’ weekly Spotlight, featuring residents who have been involved with Richmond Community Theatre.
