The fourth day of the Raider Battalion Cadet’s trip to France saw the group travelling to Mont-Saint-Michel on the southwest side of the Cotentin Peninsula. This would be a day to explore more of the long history of France and the Normandy region while mixing in some Airborne culture as well.

NORMANDY — On June 28, six representatives of Richmond Senior High School Army Junior ROTC — Jordan Ballow, Chase Wilson, Billy Wilson, Bryan Wilson, and Mary Ring – all led by retired Lt. Col. Jon Ring, departed for France to visit the World War II monuments, historic battle sites, and key strategic points from D-Day.

FORT JACKSON, S.C. — As the 2018-2019 school year ended, 18 cadets from the Richmond Senior High School Raider Battalion were selected to attend JROTC Cadet Leadership Camp. The selected cadets attended camp at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, from June 17-22.  Only the best cadets in each high school are allowed to attend. This year approximately 1,600 cadets from both North and South Carolina earned the right to attend this six-day training.

Richmond Senior's Raider Battalion has eventful week

ROCKINGHAM — The Raider Battalion has a heavy week of three major events: the learning service event, the annual Christmas parade; and the regimental dining-in.

Over the summer, three Richmond Senior High School students were invited by American Legion Post 147 to take part in a once in a lifetime opportunity — to attend Tar Heel Boys State and Girls State.  Boys State and Girls State are weeklong programs that bring people together from all over the state to run an imaginary state-sized government. All the delegates come from different upbringings and lifestyles which leads to quite a diverse crowd.
