HAMLET— The Richmond County music community was rocked Sunday evening when one of their own was stolen from.

The equipment trailer for the Ponder Project was stolen over the weekend from Dogwood Lane.

Band members say the trailer was still loaded from the previous weekend’s gig at Lake Tillery.

According to Capt. Randy Dover with the Hamlet Police Department, several Seaboard Festival committee members reported seeing the trailer being hauled down Main Street heading toward N.C. 38 around 1:30 a.m. Saturday.

Dover said surveillance video appears to show the trailer being pulled by a dark colored pickup truck.

The band, which is scheduled to perform at Hudson Brothers Deli on Friday, is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the recovery of the trailer and its contents.

It is a white trailer with the word “PONDER” in blue letters with a drop-shadow on both sides.

Anyone with information on its location or where it may have been seen is encouraged to call the Hamlet Police Department at 910-582-2551, Richmond County Crime Stoppers at 910-997-5454 or your local law enforcement agency.
