HAMLET — The intersection of N.C. 177 and Airport Road south of Hamlet will remain closed for several more hours following an early evening wreck.

Crews from Hamlet Fire and Rescue were dispatched to the scene at 5:03 p.m. Friday when a tractor-trailer hauling batteries collided with a car at the intersection and overturned, according to Asst. Fire Chief Richard Lassiter.
