HAMLET - Richmond Community College’s Cole Auditorium was the appropriate scene of a festive yet reverent event on the evening of Saturday, April 14th.

HAMLET - Thanks to the quick and decisive action of the Hamlet Police Department and adjoining law enforcement agencies, two Wadesboro residents had a short-lived visit to Hamlet this afternoon.

HAMLET - When Anita Collins was a little girl, she had a calling.  It was from her grandmother, Annie Jane Johnson, and it had nothing to do with religion.  Annie Jane was determined that her grand-daughter would learn to cook (as well as fish at Hamlet’s City Lake).

ELLERBE - This past Thursday, April 12th was the date of Ellerbe Middle School’s third Career Day Job Fair, and if its degree of success can be considered a harbinger of things to come, the future of Richmond County is in good hands.

HAMLET - In a special budgetary session on Tuesday, April 10th, the Hamlet City Council engaged in a spirited discussion regarding stewardship of the town’s funds.

HAMLET - Hamlet police conducted a traffic stop at 11:41 a.m. on Saturday, April 7th that resulted in a DWI arrest.

RICHMOND COUNTY - If you are in the market for a good book and/or a baked treat, please take time to visit the local libraries in Hamlet and/or Rockingham on Friday/13th and/or Saturday/14th.

ROCKINGHAM  -  The Richmond County Sheriff’s Department  arrested two more persons charged with violations of North Carolina drug laws.

HAMLET - Editor’s note:  Although a full report is not yet available, the following information was provided by Hamlet Police Department personnel in regard to a high-speed chase in southern Richmond County on Friday.  A full review will be forthcoming as details are made available to the media.

ROCKINGHAM - Sheriff James Clemmons has his agency focused and proactive in the continuing battle against drug crimes in Richmond County.
